UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX LEAGUE NEWS

The Middle Atlantic Region of the Ukrainian Orthodox League, consisting of the cities, Wilmington, Delaware, Millville, New Jersey, Chester, Philadelphia and Coatsville, Pa. will meet at St. Vladimir Hall in Philadelphia, on Sunday, September 25. Vesper Service will Begin at 3 P.M. with the spiritual advisors of the region assisting Very Rev. John Sawchuk pastor of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Regional delegates to the very successful Ukrainian Orthodox League convention in Boston will make their reports. Various commission reports will be discussed, as will the acceptance of the bid of the St. Vladimir Chapter to host the 1962 national convention in Philadelphia.

Plans are now complete for the huge Ukrainian Orthodox League Day which will be held in Wilmington, Delaware Saturday, October 8. This dinner-dance affair will be held in the Ukrainian Hall following vesper service in SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Rev. George Hnatko together with chairman Charles Tyrawski will report on the complete program for the affair. On the agenda for discussion is the sports program for competition between chapters in the region and competing with other regions in Bowling, basketball, etc.

Wilmington is organizing a Junior Chapter, consisting of children between the ages of 12 and 16. Philadelphia and Chester Junior Chapters are now chartered with the national executive board, and from these juniors we expect regional get togethers and competition in sports.
