Cultural and Educational Center elects new board of directors


WINNIPEG, Man. - Zoriana Hayvoron was elected chairman of the board of directors of the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre at an elections meeting held here at the organization's headquarters Sunday, December 10.

Also elected were: Stepan Korbutiak and Bohdan Klymkiv, vice-chairmen, and Olha Fuga, Ivanna Levandovsky and Andriy Ogaranko, members.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Y. Rozumnyj, Sophia Kachor served as secretary.

Reports on the center's activities during 1977 and 1978 were delivered by the outgoing chairman, the Rev. Dr. O. Baran, Mr. Korbutiak on the work of the building committee, Oleksander Prits about cultural-educational activities, and Myron Spolsky about administrative matters.

The reports noted that the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre had arranged 19 exhibits which went on display in western Canadian cities.

Mr. Korbutiak reported that expenses for rebuilding the organization's headquarters will amount to $480,000.

The meeting participants approved a budget of $138,000 for 1979 activities.

John Hewyrk, chairman of the auditing board, reported that the board had reviewed the financial statements of the center for the 1976, 1977 and 1978 and had found everything to be in order.
