Philly Ukrainian honored

PHILADELPHIA - Mike Elko was inducted into the Legion of Honor at a recent ceremony at the Chapel of Four Chaplains on North Broad Street here.

The chapel, next to Temple University, is dedicated to the four chaplains who gave their life belts to four soldiers when the troopship SS Dorchester sank off the coast of Newfoundland during World War II.

This award is given to dedicated people in their community members.

Mr. Elko is a member of Concerned Citizens of Port Richmond Civic Association and UNA Branch 45.
