TUSM plans Day of Solidarity vigil

NEW YORK - On January 12, at 7 p.m. Ukrainian Americans will gather in front of the Soviet Mission to the United Nations at East 67th Street and Third Avenue in New York City for a candlelight vigil to commemorate Solidarity Day with Ukrainian Political Prisoners.

This annual event is observed in major cities throughout the free world to show support for Ukrainians, who continue to be victimized by the Soviet regime. Nearly 50 percent of Soviet political prisoners are Ukrainians.

The vigil is sponsored by the Ukrainian Students Association of Mykola Michnowsky (TUSM). For information call Petro Matiaszek, (201) 942-7946, or Yuri Priatka, (212) 982-3626.
