Miller confirmed as envoy to Ukraine

WASHINGTON - The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on September 14 favorably reported on the nomination of William Green Miller to be ambassador to Ukraine. The following day, in executive session, the Senate confirmed Mr. Miller.

His nomination was considered en bloc with a number of other appointments including those of new ambassadors to the Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, and Spain. The confirmation was by voice vote.

The oath of office will be administered to Ambassador-designate Miller by Secretary of State Warren Christopher at the Department of State on October 13.
