- NEW YORK: The Ukrainian Institute of America invites the public to
an evening featuring Bohdan Stupka, leading stage and film actor of Ukraine,
currently with the Ivan Franko State Drama Theater of Kyyiv, who along
with his son, Ostap Stupka, will stage excerpts from the following plays:
Kotlia-revsky's "Eneida," Sholom Aleichem's "Tevya-Tevel,"
Ivan Franko's "Ukradene Shchastia," as well as the film "Anatema."
The program will be held at the institute, 2 E. 79th St., at 7:30 p.m.

- EAST HANOVER, N.J.: The Orden Khrestonostsiv Plast fraternity invites
the public to its benefit New Year's Eve dinner/ball to be held at the
Ramada Hotel, 130 Route 10 W., to the music of Kryshtal and Tempo. Dinner
is at 7:30 p.m., followed by dancing, starting at 10 p.m. Evening attire
requested. Tickets (to be reserved by December 27): $90, includes dinner,
dance and open bar); $45, dance and open bar only. Tickets purchased at
the door: $50, dance and open bar. Proceeds to benefit the Vovcha Tropa

- NEW YORK: The Ukrainian Artists' Association of America and Ukrainian
National Women's League of America Branch 64 invite the public to the opening
of a children's art exhibit by students of the Oleksa Novakivsky Art School
in Lviv. The exhibit will be held at the association's gallery, 136 Second
Ave., fourth floor. Gallery hours: Saturday and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.; Tuesday
- Friday, 6-8 p.m. Proceeds from donations will go towards purchasing art
supplies for young art students in Ukraine.

- UNIONDALE, N.Y.: The Organization for the Defense of Four Freedoms
for Ukraine, Branch 42, Hempstead, N.Y., is holding a malanka at St. Vladimir's
Ukrainian Parish Center, 226 Uniondale Ave., to the music of Tempo, starting
at 9 p.m. Tickets ordered in advance: $25, adults; $15, students; tickets
purchased at the door: $30, adults; $20, students. Ticket price includes

- DALLAS: The Ukrainian American Society of Texas will sponsor a malanka
at the hall of Ss. Constantine and Helen Orthodox Church, 3755 Walnut Hill
Lane, 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Proceeds to benefit the Chornobyl Hospital Fund.

- FLINT, Mich: The Ukrainian Home Association will host a malanka at
the Ukrainian Hall, 3321 W. Pasadena Ave., 8 p.m.-1 a.m. Tickets: $4, adults;

- PHILADELPHIA: The film "A Ukrainian Christmas Story," produced
in part by students of LaSalle College under the auspices of Prof. Leo
Rudnytzky, foreign languages department, is being shown on LaSalle 56,
the college's educational-access cable television station. LaSalle 56 may
be accessed on Comcast, Wade and Greater Media Cable thoughout the Philadelphia
