- NEW YORK: The Ukrainian Music Institute presents Lydia Bychkova, soloist
of the Shevchenko National Opera of Ukraine, with renowned pianist Thomas
Hrynkiw as accompanist, in concert to be held at the Ukrainian National
Home, 140 Second Ave., at 2 p.m. Admission: $12; $5, seniors and students.
Friday, December 20
- CLEVELAND: The Ukrainian Museum invites the Ukrainian community to
its annual Christmas party to be held at the museum, 1202 Kenilworth Ave.,
at 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 21
- NEW YORK: The New York Branch of the Ukrainian Engineers' Society of
America and the Ukrainian Medical Association of the New York metropolitan
area invite the community to join in the celebration of their annual festive
"Yalynka." The holiday program will feature the Lviviany ensemble,
followed by a buffet reception. The event is being held at the Ukrainian
Institute of America, 2 E. 79th St., 7:30 p.m. Admission: $20; $15, senior;

- NEW YORK: The Ukrainian American Youth Association (SUM-A) of New York
invites the community and friends to its annual "Andriyivskyi Vechir,"
an evening of folklore, fortune-telling and fun. This evening of enchantment
will be held at 8 p.m. at 136 Second Ave., second floor. Snacks and refreshments
will be served; admission, $5.
Tuesday, December 31
- JERSEY CITY, N.J.: A New Year's Eve dance will be held at the Ukrainian
Community Center, 90-96 Fleet St., with music by the Vidlunnia Band and
D.J. Rockin' Robert, at 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Admission: $15 per person.
Monday, January 6
- HARTFORD, Conn.: The board of directors of the Ukrainian National Home
invites the community to a traditional Ukranian Christmas Eve Supper to
be held at the national home, 961 Wethersfield Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Advance
purchase of tickets is recommended by contacting the UNH Social Club or
from the UNH board of directors. Admission: $10, adults; $5, students;
children up to age 6, free.
Saturday, January 11
- PHILADELPHIA: The traditional debutantes' ball of the Ukrainian Engineers'
Society of America will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Park
Hyatt at Broad and Walnut streets. For additional information contact Osyp
