'Harvest of Despair' to air in Maryland


WASHINGTON - In commemoration of the 66th anniversary of the Ukrainian man-made Famine of 1932-1933, Maryland Community Television will broadcast the award-winning documentary film "Harvest of Despair" during mid- and late December and early January. The film, produced by the Ukrainian Canadian Research and Document Center in Toronto, had won major awards at the 1985 International Film and Television Festival in New York.

Following the successful commemorative march and religious service in New York on Saturday, November 20, where approximately 4,500 Ukrainian and non-Ukrainians participated, Maryland Community Television has offered to air the film "Harvest of Despair" to the greater Washington metropolitan area. In cooperation with the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS). The airing dates and times of the documentary film are as follows:
