Carpathian Ski Club elects officers, schedules sports events for 2000

EAST HANOVER, N.J. - The Carpathian Ski Club (known by its Ukrainian-based acronym KLK) held its annual elections here at the Ramada Inn in East Hanover.

The nominating committee's slate was unanimously accepted with the following results: Erko Palydowycz, president; Peter Kurylas, vice-president; Vicky Kupchynsky and George "Kuba" Kupchynsky, executive directors; Vera Popel, secretary; Natalie Kachala, treasurer; Andrei Kachala, membership coordinator; Andrew Hadzewycz, public relations; Roman Rondiak, chairman of nominating committee; Orest Fedash, skiing coordinator; Juri Kobziar, golf coordinator; and George Popel, tennis coordinator.

KLK is currently scheduling a series of sports events for 2000. Among them are:

In 1999 the Carpathian Ski Club celebrated its 75th anniversary with ski races on March 6 at Ski Windham and a celebratory gathering at Soyuzivka on September 18 that featured a tennis tournament and a banquet.

KLK was founded in Ukraine in 1924 and then transported to Europe and the United States where it grew and flourished; it was re-established in Ukraine in 1989.
