- UNIONDALE, L.I.: The Ukrainian Gift of Life Committee invites the public
to its third annual Children for Children Dinner to be held at 1 p.m. at
the St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Parish Center, 226 Uniondale Ave. There will
be entertainment as well as guest speakers. Ukrainian Gift of Life, under
the auspices of the Rotary Club, helps provide the cost and care for children
from Ukraine who come to the United States for needed heart surgery. Donations

- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute Seminar
Series and the Harvard University department of music present "Bach
Scores in Kyiv: The Rediscovery of the Berlin Sing-Akademie Collection
in Ukraine" with Christoph Wolff, William Powell Mason Professor of
Music and dean of the Graduate School of Sciences, and Patricia K. Grimsted,
project director of the ArcheoBiblioBase Directory Project and HURI research
associate. The lecture will take place in the Harvard University Music
Building (behind 9 Oxford St.), Davison Seminar Room, at 4-6 p.m. and will

- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute Seminar
Series presents "Exodus from the West: The Khrushchev Government's
'Return to the Homeland Campaign' " with Serge Cipko, assistant professor
of history, Lakehead University, Canada. The lecture will take place in
the HURI Seminar Room, 1583 Massachusetts Ave., at 4-6 p.m. and will be

- YONKERS: Branch 2 of the Organization for the Defense of Lemko-Western
Ukraine invites all to a new millennium year 2000 Valentine's dance with
music by Vidlunnia. Dance starts at 9 p.m. at the Ukrainian Youth Center,

- LAS VEGAS: The Ukrainian American Club of Las Vegas will hold a Valentine's
Day Party. This is a pot luck dinner and the festivities start at 5:30
p.m. Place: Ridgemount Townhomes Club House, 5601 Ridgetree Ave. Admission:
$7 per person. The club will furnish appetizers and desserts. Please check

- TORONTO: St. Vladimir Institute presents an art show featuring the
extraordinary watercolors of Slava Gatalsky of Ukraine. Colorful characters
come to life through the artist's intricate and ornate depiction of Ukrainian
folk costumes. The art exhibit will be held at the institute, 620 Spadina
Ave., and will include an art demonstration, show and sale. Exhibit hours:
Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.; Mondays through Fridays,

- NEW YORK: St. George School and Academy Parents' Committee cordially
invites everyone to a "Sweetheart Dance" in St. George's auditorium,

for Aid to Ukraine invites everyone to a carnivale ball dinner/dance starting

sales will benefit Ukraine. Tickets in advance for the dinner/dance are
$40 per person and $30 for students with identification. Tickets after
February 15 and at the door are $50 per person and $40 for students. Tickets

a whirlwind afternoon of dance and song in "A Ukrainian Montage,"
their eighth annual concert, featuring the Ukrainian Dancers of Miami,
Trio Maksymowich and acclaimed bandurist Yarko Antonevych. The concert
begins at 2 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing

CORRECTION
- Due to an error in the listing as submitted by organizers, the incorrect
date was given for the debutante ball being held in the Detroit area by
the Detroit chapter of the Ukrainian Engineers' Society of America. The
ball wil take place February 19, not February 12.
