Invitations no longer needed for some entering Ukraine

KYIV - In applying for business and private visas for entry into Ukraine, citizens of European Union member-countries, Canada, the United States and Japan will henceforth need no invitations, reported Interfax-Ukraine.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on May 3, Interfax-Ukraine learned from the Cabinet press service. In addition, no invitations will be needed for citizens of these countries if they apply for visas for scientific researchers or for cultural and sports exchanges.

This decision is a step toward simplification and acceleration of visa registration and brings the procedure of foreigners' entry into Ukraine into conformity with European standards.
