Tryzub's sports center hosts 13th annual fall tennis tourney

HORSHAM, Pa. - Tryzub's 13th annual Fall Tennis Tournament, scheduled to be played during the weekend of September 23-24, started out as unlucky as its foreboding number. Rains forced postponement of play twice at Tryzubivka, spreading the play over two weekends and limiting the number of participants. The tournament consisted of 14 individual matches.

This year's tournament winner was Pavlo Rehulyk (Rollick), who, in a round-robin format final, defeated George Sawchak by a score of 6-3, 6-4. Third place went to Jerry Tymkiw who beat Ihor Buhaj, 6-4, 6-3. Mr. Buhaj's three-set match against Mr. Rehulyk was the best match of the tournament. After losing the first set 6-3, Mr. Rehulyk came back strong, winning the last two sets 6-3, 6-1 and qualifying for the finals.

Trophies were presented to the tournament winner, finalist and the third- and fourth-place finishers.
