- ITHACA, N.Y.: The Cornell University Ukrainian Club is hosting an event
to raise awareness about the Chornobyl disaster and its tragic aftermath.
Lectures by Alex Kuzma, executive director of the Children of Chornobyl
Relief Fund (CCRF), will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. A photography
exhibit by Joseph Sywenkyj will be on display at 10 a.m.-9 p.m. The event
will be held in the International Room of Willard Straight Hall at Cornell

Medical Association of North America and the Ukrainian Institute of America

- NEW YORK: The Art and Literary Club presents an evening dedicated to
the literary work of Lubov Dmytryshyn-Chasto, editor at the newspaper Natsionalna
Trybuna, whose works describe the harsh conditions of Ukrainian life under
the Soviet regime. Participants: Ludmyla Wolanska, introduction; Lubov
Dmytryshyn-Chasto, "Road to Creativity"; Tania Yakymenko, poetry;

at 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Featured will be arts, crafts, books, Christmas cards
and baked goods.
- SOUTH BOUND BROOK, N.J.: The Committee to Aid Ukraine of Central New
Jersey is sponsoring a play by Lesia Ukrainka, "Na Poli Krovy,"
to be held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Featured performers are Rostyslav
Wasylenko and Stepan Genyk-Berezowskyj. Donation: $10. Proceeds to benefit

- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute will present
the launch of the book "Above and Beyond: From Soviet General to Ukrainian
State Builder," by Kostiantyn Morozov, Ukraine's ambassador to Iran
and former minister of defense of Ukraine. The launch will be held in the
Longfellow Room of the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square, and will start

- OTTAWA: The Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian
Studies at St. Paul University, faculty of theology, is celebrating the
opening of its Ph.D. program in Eastern Christian Studies, the first in
the Western hemisphere, with a public lecture given by Dr. Kyriaki Karidoyanes
Fitzgerald on "Therapeia: Insights into Healing from Orthodox Theology
and Spirituality." The lecture will be held in St. Paul University

of Toronto jointly with the Center for Russian and East European Studies
at the University of Toronto are co-sponsoring a lecture by Marta Dyczok,
University of Western Ontario, titled "There's No Place like Home?
Ukrainian World War II Refugees Revisited in Light of Soviet Archives."

to see the exhibit "Gold of the Nomads: Scythian Treasures from Ancient
Ukraine." The bus will leave from St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic
Church, Sanford Avenue and Ivy Street, at 11 a.m. Cost: $20 per person,
