Ukrainian re-elected in Roselle Park, N.J.

ROSELLE PARK, N.J. - Fifth-Ward Councilwoman Melanie Selk has just won re-election.

Ms. Selk and Board of Education member Alexander Balaban, who won his seat for a second time in 1999, are two Ukrainian American public officials in this town of 1.3 square miles with a population of approximately 13,000 and about 25 Ukrainian American families.
