New Jersey's Montclair State University participates in Kyiv conference on democracy and education

MONTCLAIR, N.J. - The most recent affirmation of Montclair State University's international outreach was a conference on "Democracy and Education" held at Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University in Kyiv on June 1-2. The conference, which promoted democratic initiatives abroad, was sponsored by the two universities, the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. Conference speakers also spanned the globe, representing institutions as diverse as Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland and the University of Oklahoma. Cole, MSU president, who gave the conference keynote speech on "The Civic Responsibility of Higher Education," and Oleg Polyarush, rector of KSPU.
