- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute announces
its second annual Zenovia Sochor Parry Memorial Lecture. The lecture, "Ukraine:
The Geopolitics of Muddling Through," will be given by Dr. Sherman
Garnett, former U.S. deputy assistant secretary of defense and dean of
James Madison College at Michigan State University in East Lansing. The
lecture will be held at Harvard University in the Thompson Room of Barker
Center, 12 Quincy St., at 4-6 p.m. All are welcome. For more information

- NEW YORK: "Color and Light," an art exhibit featuring work
by Ukrainian artist Yuri Khymych, opens at the Ukrainian Institute of America,
2 E. 79th St. An architect by training, Mr. Khymych has taught drawing
at the Ukrainian Academy of Art in Kyiv for over a generation. His art
was the subject of a recent book, titled "Masterpieces of Ukrainian
Architecture in the Artwork of Yuri Khymych." The exhibit is jointly
sponsored by the Ukrainian Institute of America and Ihor Figlus and Natalie
Jaresko. The opening reception will be held November 8 at 6-9 p.m. The
exhibit runs through November 18. For additional information call the institute,

- NEW YORK: The Ukrainian Medical Association of North America (UMANA),
New York Metro Chapter, announces that a general meeting and reception
for members and all interested colleagues will be held at 6 p.m. at the
Ukrainian Institute of America, 2 E. 79th St. Following the business meeting,
featured speaker Roman Goy, M.D., M.B.A., immediate past national president
of UMANA and medical director of the Social Security Administration, will
give a presentation on the topic "UMANA for You - Role and Relevance."

- NEW YORK: The Shevchenko Scientific Society (NTSh) is holding a lecture
and slide presentation by Prof. Volodymyr Mezentsev of Toronto about his
archaeological excavation, co-sponsored by NTSh, titled "The Historical
Baturyn." The presentation will be held at the society's building,
63 Fourth Ave. (between Ninth and 10th streets) at 5 p.m. For more information

- SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.: The Ukrainian National Women's League of America,
Branch 3, cordially invites the public to its annual Autumn Ball to be
