Morristown exhibit includes Ukrainians

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The exhibition "Many Lands, One County: The Impact of Immigration on Morris County" is on view at the Morris County Historical Society's headquarters at Acorn Hall.

Through this exhibition the society provides an understanding of the diverse history of Morris County citizens and how the multicultural influence of immigrants affected the development of the community and culture of the area.

Ukrainians are included in the exhibit as one of the diverse cultural communities of Morris County.

Admission to the exhibit, which opened September 23 and will run through February 28, 2002, is free. It was made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Acorn Hall is located at 68 Morris Ave. For more information call (973) 267-3465.

In related news, Acorn Hall is hosting a special presentation on Ukrainian Christmas during the 2001 Holly Walk, an annual tour of six historic homes in Morristown. The Holly Walk takes place on November 30-December 2.
