- LA MESA, Calif.: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Parish,
4400 Palm Ave., will dedicate its new church along with the Shrine of the
Miraculous Healing Oils of St. Nicholas at 9:30 a.m. The divine liturgy
will be celebrated by Bishop Michael Wiwchar and guest clergy. Following
liturgy, there will be a banquet at the Hanale Hotel in Mission Valley,

- NEW YORK: In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the proclamation
of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and of the 64th anniversary
of the execution of Metropolitan Vasyl Lypkivsky, the Ukrainian Art and
Literary Club presents "O, Come, Let Us Bow In Reverence," a
videofilm by Olexander Ihnatusha and Vitaliy Sulyma concerning the establishment
of the Kyiv Patriarchate. Introductory remarks by Wjacheslav Wyshnewsky,
president, Friends of the Memorial Church in Bound Brook. Time: 7 p.m.;
donation: $7. The gallery exhibit will feature photo-reproductions of ancient

- PHILADELPHIA: The Ukrainian American Youth Association (SUM), Philadelphia
Branch, invites the Ukrainian American community in the Philadelphia area
to attend a fun-filled Christmas bazaar and meeting with St. Nicholas which
will take place in the church hall of Annunciation Ukrainian Catholic Church,
Old York Road. and Cheltenham Avenue in the Melrose Park section of Philadelphia,
starting at 9:30 a.m. Throughout the day there will be plenty of delicious
food, games and entertainment for children, a "Wheel of Fortune"
for adults, items for sale, including Christmas cards, the traditional
Christmas "kutia," poppyseeds and more. St. Nicholas shall pay
a visit at 2 p.m. The Heavenly Office will be open from 1 p.m. For more

- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute will present
a lecture by Roman Koropeckyj, associate professor of Slavic languages
and literatures at UCLA. The lecture, titled "Ukraine in Blackface:
Gogol's 'Fair of Sorochyntsi,' " will be held in the institute seminar
room, 1583 Massachusetts Ave., at 4-6 p.m. For more information contact

- NEW YORK: The Ukrainian Engineers' Society of America invites its members
and friends to the traditional Christmas celebration of Yalynka to be held
at the Ukrainian Institute of America, 2 E. 79th St., starting at 7 p.m.
The evening will feature a short festive program, followed by hors d'oeuvres

for Aid to Ukraine invites everyone to a carnival ball dinner/dance starting
at 6:30 p.m. featuring the music of Vidlunnia. Profits from ticket sales
will benefit Ukraine. Tickets in advance for the dinner/dance are $50 per
person $35 for students with identification. Tickets at the door: $60;
