Kuchma offers Christmas greetings

KYIV - President Leonid Kuchma on December 25, 2001, sent greetings to those Ukrainians who celebrate Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar.

"This holiday gives warmth to all Christians throughout the world regardless of their nationality, their religious-cultural tradition or their views. The perpetual greatness and importance of the Christmas event is explained by its truly universal meaning," the president remarked.

Mr. Kuchma expressed his respect for the spiritual convictions of all denominations in Ukraine, and wished all Ukrainians a merry Christmas.
