- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute invites you
to an evening of literary readings titled, "Displacement and Passage:
New Fiction by Irene Zabytko, Askold Melnyczuk and Volodymyr Dibrova."
Ms. Zabytko will read from her newly released novel "When Luba Leaves
Home," Mr. Melnyczuk will read from his forthcoming novel "The
Great Hospital," and Mr. Dibrova will read from his collection of
short stories, a work in progress titled "Tealux Sketchbook."
The readings will take place in the Thompson Room of the Barker Center,
12 Quincy Street (at Mass Ave.), Harvard University, at 7:30 p.m. Discussion
and book signing will follow with an opportunity to purchase published
works by all three authors. The event is free and open to the public. For

- ELLENVILLE, N.Y.: The Federation of Ukrainian Statehood Organizations
(OUDF) is sponsoring a panel discussion on the topic: "The Ukrainian
Famine Genocide," with panelists Prof. Emeritus Yaroslav Bilinsky,
department of political science and international relations, University
of Delaware, and author of "Was the Ukrainian Famine of 1932-33 Genocide?"
(1999, Journal of Genocide Research), Volodymyr Vyatrovych, historian,
director of the OUN-UPA Central Archive, Lviv; and Oleksandr Sych, deputy
mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, author of numerous books on Ukrainian history
and current affairs, and Nasha Ukrayina campaign chief in Ivano-Frankivsk
(2002). The panel will be moderated by Prof. Emeritus Volodymyr Stojko,
history department, Manhattan College, and editor-in-chief of the "Ukrainian
Quarterly." The panel, which will be held at the SUM resort and campgrounds,

who may require additional information.
