Highlights from the UNA's 110-year history

A special yearlong feature focusing on the history of the Ukrainian National Association.


Newark, N.J., was the venue for the 17th Convention of the Ukrainian National Association, which took place on May 13-18, 1929, with 330 delegates participating.

Reports at the convention showed yet another increase in membership: since 1925 the UNA had enrolled 6,831 more members. Assets now amounted to $2,196,884.17.

It was also reported that a new building had been constructed in Jersey City, N.J., as 81-83 Grand St., to house both the UNA and the Svoboda editorial offices.

Nicholas Murashko was voted the 10th supreme president of the UNA.
