- BALTIMORE: Dr. Sergiy Korsunsky, minister-counselor and deputy chief
of mission at the Embassy of Ukraine, will deliver a speech on "The
Ukrainian 'Orange' Revolution: Impact on Society, Economy and Foreign Policy"
as part of the distinguished speakers program at the Baltimore Council
on Foreign Affairs (BCFA). The program will be held in the World Trade
Center Baltimore, at 6 -7:10 p.m. The Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs
is a private, non-profit, non-position taking, open membership, public
service association dedicated to citizen education in foreign affairs.

- CHICAGO: The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art presents a concert by
Oleh Krysa, violin, and Tatiana Tchekina, piano, in a program of works
by Vitali-Charlier, Poulenc, Prokofiev, Skoryk and Szymanowski. A prominent
student of David Oistrakh, international laureate and distinguished soloist
and chamber musician in the former USSR, Europe and Asia, Mr. Krysa currently
is professor of violin at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y.
Ms. Tchekina has been performing with her husband, Mr. Krysa, since 1967,
in solo and chamber music recitals to worldwide critical acclaim. Mr. Krysa's
and Ms. Tchekina's upcoming engagements include a concert tour of North
America, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Australia and Japan. The concert
will be held at the UIMA, 2320 W. Chicago Ave., at 2 p.m.
- CHICAGO: The Ukrainian Medical Association of North America, Illinois
Chapter, as part of its continuing efforts to foster professional development
through medical education, is holding a scientific conference on the topic
"Dioxin and the Orange Revolution." Featured speakers are: Daniel
Hryhorczuk, M.D., professor of environmental and occupational health, University
of Illinois - Chicago, School of Public Health, and former section chief
of clinical toxicology, Cook County Hospital; and Sophie Worobec, M.D.,
associate professor of dermatology, University of Illinois, College of
Medicine, Chicago. The pathophysiology as well as dermatopathology of chloracne,
and the toxicology of dioxin with respect to the poisoning of President
Viktor Yushchenko will be examined in detail, along with a case-study presentation,
followed by an open discussion. The scientific conference and luncheon
will be held at noon at Carlucci's Restaurant in Rosemont, Ill. For further

- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (HURI) will
host a lecture given by Tanja Penter, fellow, United States Holocaust Memorial
Museum, Washington on the topic "Collaboration and War Crime Trials
in Ukraine, 1943-1953: Regional Perspectives." The lecture will be
held in the HURI Seminar Room, 1583 Massachusetts Ave., at 4-6 p.m. The

the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS) at the University of
Alberta present the 39th annual Shevchenko Lecture featuring Dr. Roman
Serbyn, professor emeritus, department of history, Université du
Quebec à Montreal, who will speak on the topic "Myth and Memory:
The 'Great Fatherland War' and the Formation of a Soviet Ukrainian Identity."
Dr. Serbyn is author of "Za Iaku Spadshchynu?" (For Which Heritage?),
Kyiv, 2002, and a collection of articles on Ukraine and World War II. The
lecture will be held Room 1003, Engineering Teaching Learning Complex (ETLC),

- YONKERS, N.Y.: A Ukrainian Easter Egg Workshop, sponsored by Ukrainian
National Women's League of America Branch 30, will be held at St. Michael's

a stylus, wax and step-by-step instructions to complete a traditional Easter

on "Volodymyr Svidzinsky: A Context for the Legend." The lecture
