Shevchenko Society announces essay contest on Orange Revolution


NEW YORK - To honor the Orange Revolution, the Shevchenko Scientific Society has announced a competition open to all undergraduates at U.S. colleges and universities.

Three cash prizes will be awarded: first prize, $500; second, $400; and third, $300.

The rules of the competition are:

1. Three copies of an essay (in English) on any aspect of the Orange Revolution, written for a course taken during this semester at a U.S. college or university must be submitted to the Shevchenko Scientific Society by May 20. The course for which the essay was written and the instructor must be identified.

2. The essay must be at least 1,500 words and no more than 4,000 words.

Winners will be notified by June 30.
