UAV Post 17 installs officers

CLIFTON, N.J. - Ukrainian American Veterans Post 17, of Passaic, N.J., held its 42nd annual installation banquet on Sunday, May 22 at Mountain Side Inn in nearby Clifton.

The following Post 17 officers were installed: Commander Walter Kupecky, Vice-Commander Andrew Hadzewycz, Welfare Officer Zenon Halkowycz, Finance Officer John Luchejko, Chaplain Frank Nakonechney, Trustees Peter Babirad and Walter Stepaniak.

Past National Commander Eugene Sagasz served as installation officer and also was the master of ceremony for the afternoon activities. In his remarks Commander Kupecky thanked the members for their confidence in him to serve another year and keep the post active in local community activities. Commander Kupecky also thanked the committee chairman, Mr. Halkowycz, for organizing the installation dinner.

Local organizations sent their representatives to attend the annual dinner and express their gratitude for the sacrifices that the veterans made.

Commander Kupecky also reminded the veterans and their guests to attend the May 29 Memorial Day services at the Post 17 monument.
