The Nadsiannia massacres


The Nadsiannia region of Poland largely consists of the Podkarpackie province. The region's name literally means "above the Sian," referring to the river that flows through the province and its central city, Peremyshl (Przemysl in Polish).

Before World War II, the region had a large population of Ukrainians who were either forcibly resettled in Poland and the Soviet Union, or voluntarily emigrated to nations throughout the world.

According to Nadsiannia historians, the following are among the villages in the Nadsiannia region that experienced massacres during the war:
