Adoptive Parents weekend held at Soyuzivka

KERHONKSON, N.Y. - The third annual weekend for American families who have adopted children from Ukraine was held here at Soyuzivka on June 16-17. More than 70 families participated in the weekend's events, which are geared toward helping the adopted children maintain contact with their Ukrainian roots and familiarizing Americans with Ukrainian culture. The first Adoptive Families Weekend was held at the Ukrainian National Association's estate back in 2004. The weekends are jointly organized by the Embassy of Ukraine, Ukraine's Consulate General in New York and the Ukrainian National Association.
