A tribute to Juri Kukk
by David K. Willis
The following article by David K. Willis, staff correspondent of the Christian Science Monitor, appeared in the May 6 issue of that newspaper. It is a personal tribute to Prof. Juri Kukk, the 40-year-old Estonian dissident who dies in a labor camp near Murmansk on March 27. At the time of his death, the Estonian professor was in the fourth month of a hunger strike. Mr. Willis, who served in Moscow from 1976 to January of this year, was a friend of Prof. Kukk.
