Poroshenko takes part in March of Unity in Paris

PARIS – President Petro Poroshenko and other global leaders took part in the March of Unity and solidarity with the victims of terrorist attacks in France, as hundreds of thousands of people came out on the streets of Paris on January 11 to pay tribute to the murdered journalists of Charlie Hebdo and other victims of terrorist attacks. The march was attended by leaders of Ukraine, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Slovenia, Poland, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Palestine, the European Union, the European Parliament and the European Commission. President Poroshenko noted that Ukraine understood the pain of France as nobody else. “The March of Unity has united all civilized countries of the world in France. Today, we are defending the values of democracy and freedom of speech together,” he said. “I believe that humanism and unity will always overcome terror,” the president emphasized.
