Markian Silecky

NEW YORK – Polsinelli, an Am Law 100 firm, announced on February 5 that Markian B. Silecky has joined the firm’s New York Office as a shareholder in the firm’s corporate and transactional practice. His primary practice focuses on international corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, data privacy and compliance.

Mr. Silecky has extensive experience counseling multinational clients in foreign jurisdictions throughout Europe, Ukraine, Japan, Nigeria, Chile, Australia, Canada, South Korea and Russia. Previously, he was the principal of an international law firm which he founded in 1993. 

 “Markian’s international experience and focus on important issues in a range of key global markets and industries will further enhance the diverse resources available for our clients,” said Dan Flanigan, the managing partner of Polsinelli’s New York office and founder of the firm’s Financial Services Department.

Mr. Silecky holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and earned his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

A resident of Verona, N.J., Mr. Silecky is a member of the Ukrainian American Bar Association and is involved in Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization. 

He is legal counsel and associate producer for the documentary film “Baba Babee Skazala” released by Kitsune Tale Productions. The documentary presents the little-known story of Ukrainian children torn from their homes in the crush between the Nazi and Soviet fronts in World War II. It had its world premiere at the fall 2018 New Jersey Film Festival, where it also received honorable mention from the festival jury.
