Fedynsky’s column attacks GOP supporters

More

Dear Editor:

Andrew Fedynsky’s column on immigration (October 25) was both thought-provoking and disappointing. He argues well for immigration reform. Unfortunately, he feels it is appropriate to take a swipe at those who support the Republican Party’s views on illegal immigration, while he fails to make the crucial distinction between legal and illegal immigration.

Furthermore, Mr. Fedynsky needlessly attacks those Ukrainian Americans who happen to agree with the Republican Party on the need to curb illegal immigration because they (or their parents, like Mr. Fedynsky’s) came to this country legally and shared the American dream.

Perhaps he should point a finger instead at those Ukrainian Americans who supported Democrat Barack Obama over Republican John McCain. Nobody can deny that Ukraine today is paying a bloody price for their shortsightedness.
