Floridians hold memorial service for victims of 1932-1933 Holodomor

NORTH PORT, Fla. – On November 20, in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, an ecumenical memorial service for the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, was held at the Presentation of the Most Holy Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church in North Port, Fla. Officiating at panakhyda were the Revs. Vasyl Petriv and Wolodymyr Wolosczuk of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Revs. Ivan Fatenko and Oleh Saciuk of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Representatives of the Community Committee of Southwest Florida – President Vira Bodnaruk, Secretary Roma Guran and Treasurer Alexandra Popel – as well as Ann-Marie Susla and Lidia Bilous of Branch 56 of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, and Doris Horbachewsky of the Ukrainian American Club, held candles during the service.
