InLove magazine shares love of all things Ukrainian

More

With its glossy pages and beautiful cover photography, InLove looks at first like any other fashion/beauty magazine. But, flipping through its pages reveals that there is more to this magazine than at first evident.

Written in both English and Ukrainian, InLove is a completely bilingual publication. The magazine is printed so that it can be read in English starting at one cover, or in Ukrainian starting at the other.

InLove’s inaugural issue contains a column titled “Who We Are,” explaining that the magazine is “a concept driven by love for life, by the passion of its contributors, combining dynamic creativity with experience in fashion, arts, music, design and photography. Our content nurtures energies that divulge aesthetics in its most powerful potential.”

Executive Editor Tatyana Borodina writes in the inaugural issue that love is what all of humanity has in common.  InLove, she says, is for those who are “in love with life… with art, fashion, literature and science… love heated discussions on economic, social, political and ethical topics… love to travel, take photos, paint, write poetry, or dance… or simply love each other.”

In choosing subject matter, the editors of InLove seem to be trying to offer something for everyone. Topics have included travel – articles on New York, Philadelphia, Lviv, Odesa and Ukraine in general; food – articles on Italian dining in Kyiv and New York, and the coffeehouse culture in both New York and Lviv; interviews with a number of celebrities, including Anastasia Prikhodko, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, Iryna Dvorovenko and most recently, Ruslana; diaspora life – the Chervona Kalyna debutante ball and the Carpathian Ski Club (KLK) ski races; the arts – films, museums and jewelry, as well as fashion – style, design and shopping.
