JENKINTOWN, Pa. – The Sisters of St. Basil are seeking volunteers to come and serve in their ministry to Ukraine’s needy. The Basilian Volunteer Program for 2018 will take place from May 27 to June 15.

English catechetical camps will be held in Drohobych from May 27 to June 1, in Ivano-Frankivsk on June 3-8 and in Mukachiv on June 10-15. Volunteers will also visit orphanages on June 3-8.

Last year the program served 150 children in three different area camps and many other children in eight orphanages, psychiatric institutions, halfway houses, etc. This year, the Basilian Sisters continue their annual ministry of evangelization and bringing support and comfort to the needy of Ukraine.

Sister Ann Laszok, OSBM, and Sister Joann Sosler, OSBM, together with the accepted applicants will collaborate with the sisters, priests and seminarians of Ukraine to provide Berlitz-style English language camps as well as to continue bringing financial support to orphanages.

Volunteers provide their own airfare to Lviv and the Basilian Sisters provide room, board and transportation within Ukraine.

For an application and additional information, readers may contact Sister Ann at [email protected] or 412-260-1607. A limited number of volunteers will be accepted, so early application is advised.

Anyone wishing to support these programs financially can donate by sending a check to: Sister Dorothy Ann Busowski, OSBM, 710 Fox Chase Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046. Checks should be made payable to Sisters of St. Basil.
