WASHINGTON – The topics of innovation and reform in Ukraine’s political and economic development will be explored during a two-day online conference on December 15 and 16.

The event, organized by the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation (USUF), will also examine the impact of the U.S. presidential election on U.S.-Ukraine bilateral relations, as well as cooperative priorities and opportunities to advance both public and private strategic partnerships.

A large group of policy experts, government officials and international business leaders, representing startups as well as major companies, will discuss regional security, defense, energy, air and space, technology, and biotechnology.

High-profile government and business leaders are expected to participate in the conference.  Planned speakers include Volodymyr Yelchenko, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States; U.S. Senator Rob Portman; U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur; Yurii Boyko, Ukraine’s Acting Minister of Energy; Riaz Awan, vice-president of Holtec International; DTEK CEO Maksim Timchenko, and UkraineInvest CEO Serhiy Tsivkach, among others.

Panelists will discuss in detail Ukraine’s expanding role in several key sectors and its many accomplishments in technology, particularly with regard to the ongoing launch of global startups.

Attendees will be able to participate in the conference virtually via a platform produced by vFairs, which will provide various chat tools and additional webinars. For example, viewers will be able to interact in a virtual exhibit area to become better acquainted with the companies and organizations that are playing a major part in Ukraine’s economic growth.

The USUF is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit, non-governmental organization with offices in Kyiv and Ukraine.  It was established in 1991 to support democracy, a free market and human rights for Ukraine. The foundation’s programs are designed to foster a better understanding of Ukraine and its role on the global stage and to encourage mutual cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.
