CHICAGO – The Ukrainian Catholic Education Foundation (UCEF) is pleased to announce that Inya Chehadé has joined UCEF as its first Chief Growth Officer, effective February 1.

Ms. Chehadé brings more than twenty-five years of non-profit and fundraising experience to UCEF, having served as CEO of The Bridge, Inc., and senior director of development for the New Jersey Health Foundation. Ms. Chehadé also spent five years in Ukraine as the in-country executive director of the Children of Chornobyl Relief and Development Fund.

“Inya combines expertise in fundraising with a deep knowledge and love of our community,” said Taras Szmagala, Jr., board chair of UCEF. “She’s committed to the mission of the Ukrainian Catholic University, and we’re fortunate to have her on the team.”

“I am excited and delighted to be joining such a wonderful team at UCEF and hope to bring my experience to the role to aid the incredible work that is underway at the Ukrainian Catholic University as it continues to grow and evolve,” Ms. Chehadé said.
UCEF was founded in 1997 to support and fund the growth and operations of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in L’viv. As the only Catholic university in the vast territory of the former Soviet Union, UCU is at the forefront of building a civil society in Ukraine, educating its students to be ethical and moral leaders of a new Ukraine. Through its fundraising activities in the United States, UCEF assists UCU in meeting its educational and financial challenges and supports its successes as the premier Catholic educational institution in Ukraine.
